Many people struggle in quitting smoking. It has been estimated that approximately 21% of adults in the United States (about 45 million people) smoke, and cigarette smoking is the leading preventable cause of death and disability in the United States.
People with PTSD have also been found to smoke at high rates. It is thought that people with PTSD may smoke in an attempt to manage stress and anxiety. Given this, it can be particularly difficult for someone with PTSD to quit smoking.
Do you have PTSD and have you been able to quit smoking? What did you do that worked? Share with readers how you finally broke the habit.

- In some respects, it was "almost accidental" how i stopped. I had been rolling my own cigs partly for cost reasons, and I had naturally started smoking mild tobacco, and went on getting milder till one day I just thought why am I bothering -- its like smoking fresh air so I said to myself thats it I'm quitting, and had no cravings to speak of and soon getting back my sense of smell and taste helped keep me going until I was at the stage of "no way am I going back." Working out how much I saved helped too keeping on the no tobacco route. Anyway good look to all trying it can be done, I'm 18 mths clear now and feel so much healthier and rich lol.
