Resiliency

Definition: Resiliency refers to the ability to positively respond (or adapt) to and cope with a stressful experience.

In regard to posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), a number of factors have been found to be associated with resiliency following exposure to a traumatic event, including the availability of social support, seeking help, and utilizing healthy coping skills.
