Email Your Guide to PTSD

Like all the Guides at About.com, I am a real person. If you have any questions about PTSD, feel free to email me at ptsd.guide@about.com.

F.A.Q.

Q. Can I get medical advice by contacting you?
A. Medical or psychological treatment or advice will not be dispensed over email. A number of resources are available if you are looking to receive treatment for your PTSD symptoms.
Q. What kind of questions are appropriate?
A. Feel free to ask any questions about the content on this site or PTSD in general. I am also interested in hearing about recent news items or research involving PTSD.
Q. Are there any questions I definitely cannot ask?
A. Do not under any circumstances disclose information about traumatic events that have happened to you or others through email. Although I will treat all information as confidential, I am required by law to report any evidence of or information pertaining to the abuse and/or neglect of children, the elderly, or impaired persons, even if the person who perpetrated the abuse is deceased or if the person reporting the abuse is now an adult.
