Many in the Northeast United States continue to cope with the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy. Natural disasters, such as Hurricane Sandy, can be very difficult to cope with. They are often unpredictable, out of one's control, and can impact entire communities, breaking down established support networks. That said, there are still steps you can take to manage stress associated with a natural disaster. The American Psychological Association also provides resources on how to cope with stress in the aftermath of a natural disaster.
