Last week, the National Veterans Legal Service Program and the government filed a motion with the United States Court of Federal Claims to approve lifetime disability retirement benefits to veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) who had previously been denied benefits after being discharged from service. This week, lifetime health-care benefits were awarded to over one thousand OEF/OIF veterans who were discharged because of their PTSD. This is a major win for OEF/OIF Veterans, validating the tremendous impact PTSD can have on a person's life. You can read more about this settlement in the Washington Post.
