New Report Finds that Approximately 300,000 Troops are Suffering from Mental Health Problems

A new report conducted by the RAND Corporation titled, “Invisible Wounds of War: Psychological and Cognitive Injuries, Their Consequences, and Services to Assist Recovery” has found that approximately 300,000 military service men and women are suffering from PTSD and depression as a result of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. However, only about half have sought out treatment for these problems. The report also indicates that about 320,000 soldiers have experienced a possible traumatic brain injury during their deployment.
